Children and teens

If you are a child or teen 15 years of age or younger, you can get your own library card. Your parent or guardian will have to fill out a registration form or be present with identification to accept responsibility for all materials borrowed on your card.

Interlibrary loans

If you have searched the collection and have not found what you're looking for, you can request materials through interlibrary loan.

The Douro-Dummer Public Library is part of the information resource sharing network for Ontario public libraries, allowing you to access public and academic libraries across the country, the Ontario Archives, and Library and Archives Canada
There are some restrictions on materials which can be requested. Requests for the following cannot be accepted:

  • Reference items
  • Rare books
  • New best-sellers

To request an interlibrary loan you can email the library.

Reciprocal Borrowing

Members of Douro-Dummer Public Library can now use their library card to borrow physical items from Peterborough Public Library and Asphodel-Norwood Public Library. Items must still be returned to the library they were borrowed from. This borrowing agreement does not apply to online resources like databases or ebooks. Simply take your DDPL card to a service desk at the Peterborough Public Library or Asphodel-Norwood Public Library to get set up.
