Why Douro-Dummer

The Township of Douro-Dummer is located approximately an hour and half northeast of the City of Toronto, bordering directly on the eastern boundary of the City of Peterborough. We are close to major national and international markets and offer easy access to Highway 7 to the south and Highway 28 to the north and west. Both highways connect our community to Kawartha cottage country and Highway 401.

Being a four-season community, we recognize the potential for growth and are actively pursuing new businesses to locate in our area.

Key industries

We are home to many farms, roadside markets, commercial and industrial operations and a booming tourist industry. Some key employment industries include:

  • Agriculture
  • Education
  • Healthcare
  • Manufacturing
  • Retail and customer service
  • Tourism

Commercial/Industrial

We currently have available land that is pre-designated and pre-zoned for commercial development along the major transportation corridors. If you're interested in developing this land, please contact us. We welcome the opportunity to discuss with anyone who may be interested.
