Development Charges

What are Development Charges?

A Development Charge is a fee that the Township collects at the time a building permit application is completed. These fees are to help pay for the cost of infrastructure and services to new development in the Township. This includes facilities and community centres, emergency services, roads and sewer infrastructure.

The 2024 Development Charges Background Study relates to the provision of all eligible DC Services (i.e., Development Related Studies, Library Services, Parks & Recreation, Fire Services and Services Related to a Highway). The study calculates the maximum permissible charge that the Township may charge as per the legislation.
