Committee of Adjustment
The Committee of Adjustment in the Township of Douro-Dummer is responsible for reviewing and making decisions on applications for Minor Variances from the provisions in the Zoning By-law. They receive their authority through the Planning Act.

Committee hearings
View our Committee Hearing Calendar to find out about upcoming hearing dates and times. Committee hearings typically take place once per month and members of the public are welcome to attend and speak in relation to an application for Minor Variance.
Due to COVID-19 all hearings will be virtual. We will record and livestream all hearings on the Township's YouTube Channel.
Decisions
When making a decision about the application, the Committee must consider the following questions:
- Is the request minor in nature?
- Is it desirable for the development of the land and the municipality as a whole?
- Does it maintain the general intent of the Official Plan?
- Does it maintain the general intent of the Zoning By-law?
All four of these requirements must be met for an application to be approved.
Members
The Committee consists of one member of Council and four citizen members. Citizens are appointed for a four-year term. The current member are:
