To keep our roads safe during the winter months, the Township of Douro-Dummer provides snow and ice removal services.

Plowing and sanding

We use snowplows to clear snow off the road surface and then sand the roads to help reduce ice conditions. It typically takes approximately five to six hours to complete six snow removal routes.

We ask you to be patient as our crew works to clear snow and ice from the roadways. Please contact us  if you feel that your road has not been plowed.

Priority roads

Priority is given to main roads and roads with large hills. Depending on the severity of the snowstorm, we may plow higher priority traffic roads twice. Winter maintenance is completed in accordance with the Township's Minimum Maintenance Standards - Winter Maintenance Policy and it is in line with the Minimum Maintenance Standards of the Province of Ontario.
