At the Regular Council meeting held on March 1^st, 2022. Mayor J. Murray Jones read out the following statement in support of Ukraine:

"I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the horrible situation in Ukraine. We are dismayed to see this democratic country and its citizens being attacked by its neighbour. Our thoughts and concerns go out to the Ukrainian people, their family and friends at this tragic time."

A moment of silence was requested and all Council Members and staff attending the meeting took part in this solemn moment.
