Appointment of Interim Chief Administrative Officer

The Township of Douro-Dummer is pleased to announce that Mr. Mike Rutter will be joining the Township as the Interim Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to support Mayor, Council, and staff during the ongoing recruitment of the Township’s next CAO.
Mr. Rutter served as the CAO for the County of Haliburton from 2015 until his retirement in 2023 and prior to that at the Township of Trent Hills, County of Peterborough and other municipalities. Mr. Rutter brings over 30 years of experience as a CAO and in municipal administration to this position.
“We are fortunate to have found a professional of Mr. Rutter’s caliber to join our team as Interim CAO while we continue our search for a permanent Township CAO. Mr. Rutter’s experience will assist the Township as it moves forward with capital and operational projects,” states Mayor Watson.
The Township wishes to thank Clerk, Martina Chait-Hartwig for stepping into the role of Acting CAO in March 2024. Ms. Chait-Hartwig will continue in her role of Clerk for the Township and valued member of the leadership team.
Mr. Rutter will commence the Interim CAO role on July 15th, 2024, and will assist the Township until the end of the recruitment process to ensure a stable and smooth transition in leadership.
