Appointment of Chief Administrative Officer

The Township of Douro-Dummer is pleased to announce that Mr. Todd Davis will be joining the Township as the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) beginning on October 21st, 2024.

Mr. Davis is a well seasoned municipal administrator with a career spanning more than 15 years serving in leadership roles at lower tier (Town of Port Hope), upper tier (Northumberland County) and single tier (Prince Edward County) municipalities. He is leaving the role of Director, Development Services for Port Hope - a position he has held with the Municipality since January 2022.  Todd has a wealth of municipal sector experience, focusing most of his civic career on economic, community and business development.

Todd has a track record of successfully managing a number of high-profile projects that required organizational coordination and industry, community, and governmental input and oversight. Open and transparent administration are a priority and he has experience managing Council and committee expectations, operations and outcomes.

"We are thrilled to welcome Todd Davis to the Township of Douro-Dummer as our new Chief Administrative Officer. His extensive experience in municipal administration, particularly in economic and community development, makes him a perfect fit for our community. We are confident that Todd’s expertise will help guide our Township through its next phase of growth and success” stated Mayor Heather Watson.

As a passionate resident of eastern Ontario, Todd has an appreciation for the entire region’s culture and rich history. He and his wife Alison have a busy family life with two children and are active members of their community, contributing to a number of local organizations.

In speaking about his upcoming move to join the Township of Douro-Dummer, Todd stated that "I am excited to join the team in Douro-Dummer to build on the great work that has been done to date in the community and to help Council realize their strategic priorities."

In addition to welcoming Todd, the Township wishes to thank Mike Rutter, who stepped into the role of Interim CAO during the recruitment process. While Mr. Rutter’s time at the municipality was short, his leadership and commitment to public service were invaluable in providing a smooth transition and ensuring that projects continued to progress during his tenure.
